Really? You can’t find solitude and serenity in the parking lot of a public park? I’m shocked, shocked I tell you!
Maybe if you tell the rest of us what days you want this public park for your personal fortress of solitude we can all stay away. Really, why should our enjoyment of the public park intrude in any way on your personal experience. Certainly your enjoyment and solitude should be priority one.
Feel free to enjoy more than 600 acres of camping, hiking, and fishing. Most of the people there seem to go for the quiet, the fresh air, the foliage and wildlife, and if that’s what you want you are welcome. As they say, it’s a free country.
That doesn’t make you NOT a selfish pain in my ass when you choose, of all those 600 acres, or even the numerous parking spaces, to park 2 feet from my car window and pollute the natural wonders with smoke, noise, etc. :dubious:
And this is why I don’t just sit in the parking lot at work. I need to physically leave the area because I’ve had people come out to my car to ask questions.
tenacious j closing the door won’t help at all. I hope your new park works out. I’ve had a lot of luck parking in residental areas. People sometimes ask me why I’m parking there, but when they can see my lunch, my book and hear the radio going…they usually already have figured it out.
There was that one nutcase who took pics of my car and called the police on me. Officer Friendly basically laughed at the nutcase and told him to go away and leave me alone, but I never went back there either. I know that I was within my rights and everything, but why stress someone out into having a screaming meltdown when I can find a different tree.
Yep. That’s exactly what I’m afraid of. Most likely the homeowner is away, or won’t bother to notice, but with my luck they would have a problem with it, and God forbid I get into any kind of confrontation, ever.
That only happened once, and he was totally batshit crazy. That’s the sort of thing that could happen anywhere. Most of the people who see me parking under trees and eating and reading just think that I’m doing just that. Eating lunch and reading and listening to the radio.
I’ve been doing this for most of my life, and have only had one person going off on me. I just stopped parking there.
I lived in my car for a while, homeless and all. I learned very quickly where to park for the night. The lunch time thing was very different.
