I had mine up on Monster for a while, and got nothing but headhunters - and I was too picky about where I wanted to work to bother much with them. My limited experience with headhunters got me a number of interviews with companies where I could barely understand exactly what it was they did, much less get excited about them.
Until I got an email from someone looking for a web designer to work on a contract for Goddard Space Flight Center outside of Washington DC. The answer to everything I’d been looking for for years, as a web-slingin’ astronomy geek who’s always wanted to live in the DC area.
I got the email a week after I committed to this job in Nashville. Foo.
(Not that I don’t like my new job, though )
