I PREFER crap TV!

Oh, yes! Ditto The Dish, which condenses all sorts of other crap TV for maximum efficiency. Looks like they tape it in her garage, but I do laugh.

These days?!? I swear, none of the characters on this are remotely believeable or likeable, especially the title character. Their workplace is soooooo realistic  and so many clues are so convenient and so easily found. And yet I find myself watching this dreck when my husband turns it on.

My personal mindless pleasures are the house hunting shows on HGTV. I see a young couple with their first or second baby on the way looking for 4000+ square feet on 2 acres with granite countertops, stainless appliances, and an oversized garage, and I just have to shake my head. I grew up in a 1000 sq ft row house with a slightly-larger-than-postage-stamp lot, 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and eventually, 7 of us lived there. I just want to scream “You know, your kids don’t *have *to have their own rooms and bathrooms!!” I don’t know why those shows hold such appeal for me…

Bravo is my favorite overall cable station at the moment, I am so losing it.

Love the Real Housewives (all of 'em), The Hills, Bridezillas (love to hate on them), My Fair Wedding and Amazing Wedding Cakes (yes, I see the theme.)

Also love Shear Genius and Project Runway. Gotta admit, I have watched a few episodes of the new Kirstie Alley reality show. Usually watch it when I’m working out (keeps me motivated!)

Are American Justice and 48 Hours considered crap TV? I love true crime shows. 48 Hours is particularly gruesome and gritty, and it gives me a voyeuristic look at the seamier side of the cities in which it is filmed, usually Memphis or Miami or Dallas.

Maury, Jerry Springer, and any court show like Judge Alex, People’s Court, etc.

ETA: Oh, and TMZ ducks

Antiques Roadshow definitely qualifies as crap TV in my mind, and was a mainstay before we got cable. No plot to follow, no continuing arc. Just a never ending series of people hoping their crap is treasure. Turn it on or off in the middle of an episode, no problem.
