On sort of a whim I bought one of these vaporizers. Then, after reading up, bought a Wand, an induction heater. The hype on these things is pretty correct- weed goes a lot further and is more flavorful. As long as you don’t overheat it, there’s no combustion. There is a bi-metal disc that makes a click when the thing is ready to go, and then clicks again when it cools down. An unexpected consequence is body highs I haven’t felt forever. As an example of weed consumed, I have a bat, a one hitter that looks vaguely like a cig. It has a plunger to expel ash. I load it up and plunge the weed into the Dynavap so I have consistent loads. I can get 3 or 4 good rips off of it. Also, the Wand comes with what’s necessary for wax, so that’s nice!
It sounds complicated to me lol. I have a one hit pipe and some pre rolls and that is good enough for me. I am a very infrequent user.
Interesting to see how the industry is evolving.
Enjoy!
But it’s not complicated at all! It differs from a regular pipe in that you put a cap on the bowl, and heat it prior to hitting it, rather than burning it as you toke. The heating of the cap is like a little ritual if you don’t have a heater. The hit is unbelievably smooth as there’s no smoke. The cheap one is only $39. It’s worth a try imho.
I got stuck at the heating part. How is this done? With a lighter?
Usually a torch, which is aimed at the center of the cap. The piece is rotated for even heating. When it gets to the right temp it goes click. Some users aim at different places on the cap for reasons. I have a heater where I just stick the pipe in and wait for the click. It’s quite wonderful. I honestly had no idea when I bought in on a whim.
My ex used something called a volcano.
I will have to explore this a bit more. Sounds interesting!
Its a device, it heats up, you put a plastic thing on it, and it inflates, then you remove it and inhale.
Newer smoking and vaping tech is astonishing and a bit overwhelming sometimes; I remember when high-tech pot smoking gear consisted of a double album cover, a Marygin grinder, a deck of strawberry EZ Widers, and a Power Hitter.
This is pretty cool. I tend to vape weed most often, but I use cartridges with THC oil in them.
This is more like when I used to vape back in the early 2000’s and used a oil diffuser that I would put the bud into, just far more portable and convenient (the heating element of my old one took forever to heat up).
It could also save money in the long run, since flower weed tends to be cheaper than vape pen carts.
The only negative thing about the Dynavap is (besides the cost) the relative PIA of heating them. I bought an induction heater as soon as I read up on them. It’s wireless and a little bulky- best for in home use imo. Lots of guys prefer using a torch. Like I said earlier, the cheapy is only $39 and worth a try. You will save on flower. but, man, the smoooth hits
I’ve been using a Pax 2 for 5 years.
It’s wonderful & smooth, no coughing !
I’ve been trying to get my g/f to use a vaporizer for her MS meds.
Maybe she would use a dynavap with one of those heater thingies…
apparently that’s the vape that’s most like a joint.
It’s a game changer. Smoking is so yesterday.
Ha, I still have my old albums from when I was a teen stored somewhere, and I bet if I opened up my ‘ELO - Out of the Blue’ album, some shake would still be stuck in the crease.
Cheech & Chongs album.
It’s nice that you have found a system you really like but, good Lord, it sounds so complicated! LOL
Why don’t you just consume an edible? I don’t like the “stoned” feeling that results from marijuana but, on the rare occasion I do indulge, it is an edible.
If putting a cover on a bowl, heating it, and then inhaling is complicated I don’t want to ride in a car where you’re the driver
Oh, and, watch out for fentanyl in your gummies
A licensed dispensary should preclude such a concern, shouldn’t it?
I believe there have been dispensaries unwittingly selling tainted goods. Fodder for abolitionists.
