I really hate my work laptop

It’s a Dell, and I had given it a glowing review after using it for a few weeks back in September.

Well, I now hate it.

Let’s see, it takes a long time to start.

The trackpad does not finger scroll (it is supposed to).

The stupid track stick gets in the way when typing.

Adjusting the screen brightness sometimes requires a restart before the buttons work (I hit the buttons and nothing happens).

Picking an object with the track pad buttons quite often makes the software “grab” that object, as though it thinks you want to move it (example: say I pick in the address bar to type a new address, if I then move the pick arrow out of the way to type, the whole window moves, too, as though I’m still holding the left click button).

The front of the case now flexes if used on a desk.

The power plug is now loose.

I just don’t get it. I’d like to throw the damn thing out the window.

You probably need to update the trackpad driver. If you already have, maybe you need to reinstall it.

Or do what I did with my old work laptop - disable the craptastic touchpad and just plug in a trackball. I prefer atrackman trackball but YMMV> I like the fingers doing the right and left click, and I find the thumb manages the trackball way better than my middlefinger ever would on the other style.
