Happy Leap Day! I’m not sure what that means exactly but my OCD is satisfied. Please feel free to post your own thoughts on Leap Day or my OCD.
A leap day is caused by the Earth having a little rest in it’s orbit. Everyone needs a day off now and then.

Yay for Leap Day, a day for nerds everywhere. 
A lot of people seem to be confused by the complications of the Leap Day schedule, but as a nerd, I really appreciate all the effort that went into it - both the observations that were necessary to prove that there are approximately 365.2425 solar days in a year, and the creativity to work out some sort of logical schedule to give us an extra day 97 years out of every 400 to account for that extra .2425
I can’t believe it’s only a week and a half till daylight saving time. It just started being light for the beginning of my morning drive, and now I’ve got to start in the dark again.
On the plus side, it will still be light out when I get home.
Thanks to leap day and a miserable cold I sent my son off yesterday morning with hugs, glad you could visit last night and not a single “Happy Birthday” I knew march 1 was Thursday so I thought today was his birthday. Poor kid got a Happy Birthday text instead.

I’ve always thought it sad that we, as a species, couldn’t come up with some creative once-every-four-years holiday for Leap Day. Instead we schlep off to the office like it’s just another day.
And it isn’t just us nose-to-the-grindstone Americans. Even the French are working today.
Come on, humanity! Show some creativity. Lighten up. Wookie Life Day would be better than this.

How come years with 366 days jump in English but are double-sixed in Spanish and Catalan? How do you guys make a year jump in the first place? And what are the names and their roots in other languages, eh? I’m too lazy to start looking it up… off to GQ with me!
I used to, but the pickle juice kept staining the robe. Now I just use cucumbers.

I for one am glad for this day. For well over a year, I keep getting an error when I try to create files with a date as the file name. Yes, I want to overwrite the old one! 2006 had the same dates on the same days, so that’s what I’m overwriting. I’m hoping that starting this Friday, that’s no longer a concern.
