Here now, I give you the sequel to this thread:

The National Enquirer, as you may know, recently published the crime scene photos of the Columbine killers’ corpses. Here’s my take and description (warning, maybe TMI):
Okay, as far as I saw (didn’t have time to look through it all) there are two pictures. Both are in color, and taken from nearly opposite angles. The corpses are unidentifiable. The one that I think is Eric Harris is missing the upper half of the head. His bloody gore is pooled all over a bookshelf right behind his body. The other one, I think Dylan, is laying on his side, and wearing a black t-shirt with red lettering. Each of them are in all black. A carbine rifle is visible laying near the corpses. Pools of blood surround each of their heads.
My take: National Enquirer claims that the photos support their assertion that it was a murder/suicide by Eric Harris. There is absolutely no way of discerning such via the photos. You can barely tell which is which, much less how the shootings occured. For me, the official autopsy reports are good enough. The public are not ballistic experts, most will have no clue as to what to look for in a couple of crime scene photos. This is just gorey sensationalism.
Update: I looked at the pics again (they’re online by now), Eric is wearing a white t-shirt.
What did the autopsy reports say? I’ve forgotten.
Daoloth, I don’t think you have looked closely at the pics. My morbid curiosity forced me to purchase the Enquirer, and it was clear to me that Klebold was the one in black without even looking at the captions. What they are saying is that Klebold’s death could not have been a suicide because of evidence like the blood spattering, the way he fell, where the guns were located when they found him. He had no gun in his hand or near his hand that could have been used for suicide. In the article, they also state that Klebold’s autopsy has not been released to authorities because the Klebold family is blocking it for some reason, so there is no way to be sure until that information is released. The unofficial theory is that Harris shot Klebold then shot himself. Of course, officially it is a double suicide.
Yes, I too have read the article. More of my take: Publishing the pictures of the corpses in an American tabloid is not going to discourage copycat killers. The copycat killers are not too disillusioned- they don’t expect death to be free of blood and gore. Seriously, does the Enquirer think that copycat killers are under the impression that people die painlessly and bloodlessy?
when I saw the tabloid at the newstand, I must say I was shocked. Its one thing if the enquirer wants to publish “Jackie O’s secret love tryst with Dom Delouis” or something, but I thought this was waaaay out of line.
When did they turn into rot.com?
(yes I know its real name but see no need for encouraging it here.)
I didnt even look at it. The suggestion was enough to tun my stomach.
Then I saw some other tab next to it which suggests that JFK and wife were expecting when their plane went down.
I used to think it was harmless - those mags telling about who is seeing who- and now I see where that kind of shit leads to.
what a twisted world.
To be fair- Rotten doesn’t even have the pics up.
No, rotten doesn’t, but this other site someone told me about does. (No, I’m not linking it.) Perhaps even more disturbing is that this same site was asked by the FBI to stop distributing the Daniel Pearl video.
I know which site you’re talking about. To be fair to them, too, they took down the Pearl video.
Don’t know which site you’re talking about, Daoloth, but consumption junction still has it on their site (Along with a long explanation on why it’s still up).
