They’re touring the west, and were in Edmonton last night. We had front and center seats about 40 ft from the stage. About 2000 people were there, I would guess.
It was a phenomenal show. They played all of “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot”, and a bunch of earlier stuff like “California Stars” and “Hesitating Beauty”.
They’re playing small venues throughout Canada, so if you get a change to see them, don’t miss it. They put on a GREAT live show.
Here Here, Stone.
I’ve been seeing Wilco since A.M. came out, and have probably been to 10 or 12 Wilco shows. The most impressive thing about this great band is that they have totally matured over the past 6 or 7 years, going forward, without missing a step. Not many bands have morphed quite the way they have and done it so flawlessly. Every album they have put out has been worthwhile. Their evolution displays Tweedy’s love of pop/rock music and his desire to grow as a writer. Their instrumentation is never showy or flashy, but usually subtle and tempered.
Clearly, they are the best American band.
