It will close. It is closing. It has been closed. These work just fine. I don’t understand why the media will glom onto an infrequently-used synonym for a common word, and then beat us to death with it. (At least every shake of the earth no longer has to be a temblor. That one wore thin pretty quickly here in California.) But why do they do this?
Because saying closed over and over gets boring?
It makes it appear that they got an education somewhere.
I hate how they all jump on the same word or phrase. Then they write articles complaining about how people overuse those very same words or phrases. Just like how they keep writing articles about Paris Hilton and then complain that people care too much about Paris Hilton.
