I so want the US elections to be over!

May seem odd, since I"m not a Yank and don’t live in the US. But who you choose as your Prez, reps and senators has so much impact on the rest of he world, and Canada. I am just tired and anxious - can’t imagine how you US folks feel, or how you are getting though it all.

And I know that it won’t likely be over on Tuesday, but at least we’ll have a clearer picture of what’s happening.

Best wishes from the North.

I know, I’m scared and worn out, but I need the answer.

It’s over, for me. I sent it in and I’ve tuned it out. Ain’t got nuthin’ to do but roll around Heaven all day.

I’m excited about Tuesday. My brother has already voted in Michigan and he keeps poking at me, reminding me that if I die before Tuesday I won’t be able to vote, but if he dies his vote will count.

Yep, want it over too. Wish it were over already yesterday.

My personal phone is a pay as you go model. I don’t use it all that much, so it is far cheaper than having a monthly plan.

This last month, my minutes have been chewed up by receiving texts from both parties, telling me to vote for them.

I’m more than a bit resentful over them making me pay for their advertising.

I’m also looking forward to not having to pull out half a dozen flyers out of my mail every day, and will not miss the litter that is left in my yard or stuck into my door.

Ah, the joys of being a swing state resident.

Just as I felt 4 years ago, I just want the damn thing to be over already. I never felt this way previously.

I’ve already voted and the same day my vote showed as accepted, the political calls and texts slowed to 1 a day. I’m going to remember that for next time I get tired of the spam.

I will be VERY happy when this is all over.

I want it over, but only if Trump loses. It’s going to be such a crushing blow if he wins.

I did already vote. Stood in line in drizzle for 2 hours 15 minutes. There were Trump hats and Trump tee shirts in the polling place – can’t we get rid of that?

I spent late yesterday and half the morning today working on fallout from his executive order that stops us from talking about privilege and unconscious bias in the workplace (my company accepts government contracts). A big part of my job is diversity, equity, and inclusion in the corporate environment. I have dozens and dozens of things spread around the company intranet and our two internal social media environments that have to get tracked down and disconnected because they’ll become illegal in three weeks. This is just horrible, just so horrible. If he gets SCOTUS or somebody to put him back in office, I just have no idea how we’ll recover what’s left of democracy here.

I got my first political call yesterday. Someone called to ask if I had voted for Betsy. I guess Betsy is running for congress in the district in central IL where I vote. My ballot allowed me to vote for the Democrat running for congress without naming them. It was a generic mail-in ballot for IL. So I guess I have voted for Betsy.

Anyway, to answer the OP, I wish I could go into hibernation for a week and come out to find Biden has won and the senate has flipped.

I not only didn’t get a reduction in the general spam after I voted, I also go a text that said “Public records show that you already voted! That’s awesome! Can we count on you to remind 3 friends or family to vote today?”

I voted over a week ago and since then I’ve felt like I shouldn’t have be subjected to anymore commercial, signs, etc.

That’s just not right! I did get 1 call today, but I had already blocked that number.

I’m trying to brace myself for the election to last several days before we have an answer. Will Democrats win? Will Trump contest the results? Will the Supreme Court throw out our absentee ballots? I’m worried news agencies will make predictions too soon. I’m worried about a lot of things. Yes, this is hard.

I advise everyone to stay away from the news and social media this weekend, and possibly thru Election Day and beyond. Go outside and breath. No matter what happens, the sun will rise on Wednesday.

Oh, me too. I’m always surprised when people say they’re looking forward to Tuesday and knowing who won. I polled followers on Twitter and only 10% of people thought we’d know on the 3rd.

It’ll probably be a while before we know for sure.
Link is to a 538 article, detailing when polls close and when they think we can expect results.
Tipping point states like Pennsylvania may not be known for almost a week.

I can say the same thing, word for word!

I stopped at the grocery store today, and the teenage bagger asked me what I was going to do for Halloween. I told him, “Real life is already scary enough!”

I could be wrong - hope I’m wrong - but I have an uneasy feeling that our democracy is about to be tested in ways it wasn’t meant to be tested.

Voters can change all that if they deliver Trump and the GOP a solid ass kicking on Tuesday. In fact if the race is called by 11:00 or 11:30 p.m. that night, I’d see that as a very welcome sign of things to come. And there’s a scenario in which I can see that happening. Current polls suggest it’s a possibility at least.

But some states are close enough that we could end up with a real controversy. If I am wrong and FL, NC, GA all go to Trump instead of Biden, which is what I currently project based on polling averages and stability, then we could have a real problem of uncertainty, and it’s the uncertainty that will be exploited by anyone who has an interest in seeing it amplified - from Washington to Moscow.

I didn’t say I was looking forward to knowing who won when I woke up Wednesday. I am looking forward to all of the fucking election hype and hysteria being over with. I am praying for lame duck dramatics happening next, but am expecting the worse.
