I stole a magazine from my eye doctor's office

So I’m in the waiting room this morning leafing through the magazine rack when I see a magazine I’ve been looking for…a back issue of MIT’s Magazine of Innovation: Technology Review. The issue had some work-related articles I needed but our company library doesn’t receive that title and every B&N, Borders, etc. I had visited didn’t have it. Local library didn’t turn up anything either. Given this was now a couple months old, I’d given up on finding it–but now here it was.

So I took it (after my appointment was over–my cornea’s healed, btw!). I felt a little bad, so I swore I would bring several magazines from home when I go back next week (to pick up my contact lenses) to replace the one I took.

Any Dopers ever do something similar or equally unusual in a doctor/dentist office?

Your actions made Baby Jesus cry. :frowning:

I would copy the articles that I need out of the magazine and then bring it back.

I’ve never taken the magazines out of the doctor’s office. Although I do try to take any pens that I can find with different prescription logos on them. Especially ones for Prozac, or Diflucan, or other drugs for either mental illness or STDs.

I’m calling OPD.

As long as you suffer agonies of guilt each time you so much as think of looking at the magazine it’s okay

I don’t think they will worry too much as long as you take something back to replace it.

Eye doctor’s office?

Does the magazine have really small print?

Think about it.
