I chew ice a lot, and my iron levels are fine. I try to limit it, because I also used to grind my teeth at night (not so much now) and I know eventually I’ll be paying the price in the form of dental bills.
I love chewing ice and have normal iron levels.
For me, it’s a texture thing. Soft ice is best. I like the way the ice compacts and melts as I bite down on it. Am I weird? No more so than most people. I also love the texture of champagne grapes, citrus fruit, raspberries, bean soup, bacon, fried eggs, etc.
