I Tattoo, Do You?

This is the tattoo I am thinking of getting, but probably without the Piaggio spade, just the numbers and dot. Almost no one would know what it means, only those of us in the special clique.
The downside to this tat is that it can’t be hidden under clothing, and it doesn’t make sense to put it anywhere but the left hand.

It was uncomfortable. The outline is kind of heavy and the vibration on my brain bucket gave me a headache. This was my experience - and I fell asleep getting my back piece done. I think if I had a less douchtastic / egomaniacal artist it would have gone more smoothly.

just tell them you wrote it on your hand with a pen. No one will know the truth. Or you could just admit you are a car nut.

So, How you doin?

That is fantastic work!

I haven’t come up with anything I was sure I would want to say or display for the rest of my life.
When I was in the Navy, I considered getting “Mom” over a heart tattoo but when I mentioned it to Mom, she said “What? Did I raise a moron? Ya do something that stupid and I’m cutting you out of the will.”
So I didn’t get a tattoo.

I"m working on a Japanese style body suit. Tattoos rock.

Pictures or it didn’t happen.

I am with your mom, I wouldn’t want my children to tattoo MOM on them either. I would be ok with something symbolic, like a Pisces symbol or something else that reminds them of me, but for some reason I think the word MOM on someone’s body is a tad bit creepy.

I never have, but I’ve seriously considered it. I wanted to get a Coat of Arms on my right shoulderblade. I wanted to because it seemed to represent my family name (according to my father). I started to really want it after he died. I figured “Hey, its my name. Its not like I’m going to go change it.”

Here is a link to a picture of a different Coat of Arms (for Canada). If you could imagine that on a shoulder blade at about 3 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches you’d get the idea. I’m not sure anyone would find it fashionable or even cool though.
Actually, with all that’s going on in the graphic, I’m not sure its even do-able without looking like a bad sharpie doodle.

I haven’t yet because I don’t know for sure if my family name really links in any distant way to that crest (and it was my family that I wanted to show, not someone elses).

Coat of arms tattoos are actually pretty common and don’t look bad at all

I did a quick google search and got these pics

Here is my oldest son’s waste of money.

I cannot imagine why people want tattoos.

Hep alone…!

As you get older, the ink fades and loses it’s definition. Your body sags, and all of sudden the hula girl looks more like a turd on the beach than a dancer.

Wouldn’t it have been easier to say "No, I don’t " or just have skipped this thread?

I choose to not get a tattoo for very personal reasons, and personally don’t care for most I see, but I can fully imagine why someone might want to. You really cannot even begin to imagine the appeal?

Well, it is an opinion forum.

No, I don’t.

Wow, your son is hot…

Hepatitis isn’t a risk if you go to a licensed shop that uses new needles every single time they tattoo. My artist opened the brand new sterile needles right in fount of me and wore gloves the whole time. They whole place smelled faintly of disinfectant, and all their reusable equipment was regularly autoclaved. I couldn’t have felt safer if a surgeon was tattooing me. I would be more worried about infection transmission at a hospital than a good tattoo shop!

Now homemade or prison tats are risky, but not the kind I got.

Takes after his dad. Except for the whole being in ridiculously ripped shape thingy. And he’s 40. …man I hate that kid…
