I think Hedy Lamarr is dead . . .

The pic above says it all - Hollywood glamour personified. The Golden Agers are down by one again.

BTW, Padeye, you probably just heard wrong, the way it works is the larger the woman’s bust, the dumber the men are.

Thank you. I always had it as a project in the back of my mind to one day read the whole book, but now I can lay that idea to rest.

Yankee Blue,
Re: bust sizes.
Right on!
renee

Poor Hedy must be spinning in her grave (or spinning in the morgue, really). The L.A. Times quotes extensively from her “autobiography” in their obit, despite the fact that it’s been long discredited!

You’d think the L.A. Times would have better fact checkers, or at least not be quite so lazy . . . Just proves again, Never Believe Anything.

Eve, are you talking about this article? http://www.latimes.com/news/state/20000120/t000006232.html

Yeah—what a badly researched, piece-of-crap obit! And it’ll wind up in libraries, etc., and get used as research material on her, now . . .

Well, I notice that the biography doesn’t even mention that she later claimed the “autobiography” was inaccurate. I hope later on in the week they’ll have a better article. You would think that the LA Times would have better obituaries prepared for stars of the caliber of Hedy.

I like Hedda Hopper’s description of her as “orchidaceous.” I might use that myself some day.

Eve, why don’t you write a letter to the editor? You would have the credentials to make them realize the errors of their ways.

One of the disadvantages of my profession is I can’t afford to make enemies of editors, so I have to keep my mouth shut a lot.

As you can imagine, I am NOT good at that.

Why not get in touch with the obit-writer’s editor, point out the guy’s inadequacies, have him bounced out on his ass and take over his job?

I hear you meet the NICEST stiffs out in L.A…

Absolutely true.

I hope that Eve will consider her for a biography sometime soon…preferably while she’s still around to interview!

Sad to say, Kate hasn’t “been around” in about five years. The wheel’s spinning but the hamster’s not home, so to speak.
