…or something like that.
I have a digital watch (a calculator watch, which makes me officially a Nerd) that I normally don’t wear but carry in my pocket. Today, at about 11:00 AM, as I was just sitting there, I start hearing beeping, and I can’t figure out where it’s coming from. Finally I realize that it’s coming from inside my pocket- the watch’s alarm is going off. “What the hey?” I say to myself in Far Side fashion. I stop the alarm and look at the watch. The alarm is set for 6:50 AM as it had been, and is not turned on. The watch still has approximately the right time, though it stops running for about 30 seconds. Pretty much everything about the watch is right, except that it now thinks it’s Saturday instead of Friday (but it still has the date right- it’s like it forgot this was a leap year). “Hmm,” says I.
It was just an isolated weird incident until this evening. After making the paper optical illusion dragon thing of this thread, I wanted to make a video of it. So I get my webcam, but despite some brief flickers of picture, it only displays a solid black or gray screen. It’s all right, I think, because I can use my digital camera to make a video instead. I get out the digital camera, turn it on, and it beeps at me. Everything (date, time, settings) on the camera has been reset! Then I put things together and have a :dubious: moment.
What the hell’s going on? Solar flare? Or have I been given some electromagnetic charge that will undoubtedly bestow upon me super powers? Could always be a government conspiracy, too.
