I’ve had it for about 10 years, and considering that it’s a flat screen, it’s probably on its last legs and I’m surprised it’s lasted this long.
Anyway, starting a few hours ago, I noticed that CNN was in purple and green colors only, and then switched it back and forth a few times and it came back with proper colors. Other channels are doing the same thing, and some other channels have no picture at all, which also makes me wonder if there’s a Tivo problem.
What are other Dopers’ experiences with this?
Here’s a thread from earlier today about buying a new TV.
Thanks.
I don’t want a 65" TV personally, nor do I need a lot of other bells and whistles. I have a 26" (diagonal) now, and will probably get one that size or maybe a little bigger.
I’ll check the ads in tomorrow’s paper.
Whether you want or need them, there are going to be a lot of bells and whistles on any new TV you buy.
That’s true. I’ll scan the ads, go to the store, and pick something that suits my needs.
I’ve never heard of half the things they’re talking about on that other thread.
Update: Someone on FB suggested that I call the cable company, which I did, and they fixed it. It appears to have been an issue with my Tivo.
Even if the color issue was fixed, any new TV is going to be an improvement over your ten-year-old one.
Moved to IMHO as looking for opinions on a TV and not actually about shows on TV.
Just housekeeping.
Just curious, a Tivo or do you mean DVR? Also do you know what they had to fix or was it all behind the scenes?
