:Whoosh:
If I am reading your question correctly, it means that something someone said or did “went over your head”.
“whoosh” is the sound made by an idea, concept or movie/book/music reference as it makes a low pass over your head without making contact with your brain.
As I have observed, on this board it generally means someone made a sarcastic or ironic comment and someone else reacted with surprise, shock and/or outrage as though the statement should be taken literally.
I once whooshed a guy on a World’s Wildest Police Videos thread. I commented on the smug editorializing with the lame puns that the narrator always throws in, and offered this humourous, though fake example:
“That crook thought he could get away in a stolen vegetable truck, but now he’ll have plenty of time to toss salads, in jail!”
I picked up at least one
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Thank you Bryan thank you. Best laugh I’ve had all day. I love doing imitations of Smug Police Chase Guy. Nice to see there are others
Or is it interesting when someone asks the meaning of a word when using that word in the proper context within the OP?
