I think maybe I just don't like Video games that much anymore?

Well, it’s sold some 13 million copies. Even if 90% of people liked it, that’s still 1.3 million disappointed players. So his claim of “many people, hundreds of times” is probably technically correct, just not especially meaningful nor representative of the average

Sure, and if he had only said that FO3 had problems it would have been a fine statement. But he said “most people don’t think FO4 or FO3 are very good,” and that’s silly.

In a lot of ways I preferred FO3 to New Vegas because I liked its setting better. New Vegas was great but so was FO3.

Doesn’t mean “most people” “didn’t think it was very good”.

Loads of people thought it was very good. At least it didn’t crash multiple times a session like New Vegas did.

Should have refreshed before replying as I see everyone covered this.

But still, I get why some people (and no, it isn’t “most”) prefer New Vegas. There were more factions and there were more stats and ammo types to tinker with if that is your thing (it isn’t mine, I think it needlessly overcomplicated the game), but it just didn’t have as interesting an environment as FO3 and it was comically unstable. On release the 360 version had a bug where every time you saw a loading screen it took a tiny bit longer, so after a while you just had to restart or you’d have to wait minutes to get through a door. In fact I gave up on it on the 360 when killing Mr House didn’t spawn the character it should have, meaning I couldn’t continue down my path (and yes, I tried many times). I gave up later on the patched up PC version when the NPC I needed to speak to was flagged on the map as the other side of a door, but when doing that you got told it was the other side of the door you’d just gone through. Using the console to spawn the character crashed the game and neither jumping to it not bringing it to me worked.

So yeah, New Vegas may be great but it is a bug-ridden mess of a game that I wasted far too long on.

I have more fun replaying games I’ve played 10+ years ago than playing new games these days. Currently I’m playing Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, and after that I’ll play the KOTORs, this time as the dark side.

Same.

PS - if anyone still has any copies of old Icewind Dale character files they’d be willing to share (each character has a .bio & a .chr file) please pm me.
