I knew a girl in high school who had PCOS, and she was an emotional roller coaster. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone cry more often than her, the poor thing.
My guess would be that PCOS is what’s causing you to act this way. Definitely see your doctor.
Male hormones and female hormones are way different. Really.
When chicks get hormonal they just sit there and cry. When we hairy-chested guys get hormonal we go out and build a bridge. Or blow up a bridge, whatever.
Just so long as we’re doing something cool.
Yeah I am going to the doctor, as this is all of the sudden and as someonepointed out that it probably my be affecting my hormones or whatever it does.
I know how you feel. I just read Walk Two Moons in my Children’s Lit. class, and I cried at the end. I mean, actually sobbing a little, not just tearing up. Of course, it did touch upon something in my life, but that’s besides the point, 'cause I never do that.
Maybe it’s the moon or something.
I’ve been emotional for as long as I can remember, probably since around 13 or 14. Crying at all kinds of commercials, movies, discussions, etc. My mother was emotional too, so I just attributed it to that and my personality, I never thought that it could be an ovarian problem.
Sorry to bump this a bit, but how are you doing Deadly Nightlight? I was just wondering if you have had a chance to go to the doctor, or if you’ve managed to control the crying any.
still cry at commercials and movies, but its not quite so bad if its reruns
I am working on making it to the doc again, I am in the middle of moving and haven’t had time
This is a first post for me, so please excuse my clumsiness…
Nightlight…find the time to make it to the doctor!
Female hormones are way different than male hormones,
they affect emotional well-being.
It is not a light subject.
I am not a physician, but I am an experienced person who has endured hormone malfunction. A physician you trust can do wonders.
crying spells are okay from time to time, but they can tear your psyche to shreds if pro-longed.
To care for others - you need to be in good graces for yourself.
“I have been where you’re going, and think I can see where you’re pinned”
(Leonard Cohen)
Give yourself a gift…find the time to see a good physician!
Hormones! Bah! Curses on them all!
[hugs Deadly Nightlight and sniffles on her shoulder a bit]
I just started using the patch, and am having a bit of an emotional trip myself. Mostly, it manifests itself as bitchiness, and while other folk in the house might thinks that I’m exhibiting my normal baseline bitchiness, I can tell the difference. This is worse. And it’s pissing me off. So nobody better leave their dishes in the sink again, see? Hmmm, SEE???
Curses! Curses, I say!!!
[deep breath]
Deadly, honey, want some chocolate? And some nice salty peanuts? Maybe that will help…
Yeah, I’m a weeping willow lately, too. I think it’s a combination of social stress, pre-menopausal hormones, and really cute fucking commercials with soft, smiling babies and puppies and little kittens, too! Don’t forget little soft kittens…and home-made cookies…
It’s good to hear that you’re crying less Deadly, but please do see a doctor soon. Meanwhile, maybe some chocolate would help
The thing you women have to realize is that men have PMS all the time. That’s why we’re so grouchy and like to punch each other.
:passes around the Kleenexes:
Deadly, with everything else going on in your life, (Dumping exes and crappy friends) could this be an emotional roller coaster rather than a hormonal one?
Let us know what the doctor says.
Um, that’s supposed to be “passes” not a tongue smiley with asses.
What an odd combination that was!
