i think zimmern has a point about modren chinese resturants

Here’s a place in Philly that has something called “beef with szechuan peppercorn sauce.” I can’t remember seeing anything called “sichuan peppercorn sauce” or “prickly ash sauce” on menus here, but it’s also possible it just goes by another name.

Prickly Ash sauce was on the menu of a Chinese restaurant on Saipan 20 years ago or so. I don’t even know what the ingredients were, but it was hot, spicy, and delicious.
