Well that picture was posted in context with the thread I didn’t want to just post my pic here without reason. When I’ve done that at other boards they called me an attention whore.

Wait you stroll in here to garner support for a chat cam thing, use numerous acronyms which, you still can’t be arsed to clarify. Then whing about everbody being less than communicative or receptive to YOU?

‘Everybody usually knows what these things mean, I didn’t have to explain a single thing on some other boards…’ Who’s talking down to others? When people refuse to clarify things to their audience, when asked are just playing at being superior. Making people have to ask, ‘what does that mean?’ Is a pretty transparent, overused tactic.

And not thin skinned? But what about the times you flouced out of your own threads because you didn’t like how someone responded? Kinda juvenile response, especially when used more than once.

I just didn’t realize that no one here knew what tinychat was. I didn’t catch on that that was the problem at first, and when I did- I explained myself.

what more reason would you need then in a response to a “prove it” - you could have simply said “no” instead of claiming you didn’t know how.

So thin skinned for someone who can’t seem to make themselves understood. If you want people to respond you need to make an effort to be understood.

A bunch of acronyms, no attempt, even when asked,to make it clear what you’re referring to, doesn’t exactly entice people to engage with you.

If you’d spent a little time reading the board, you’d have recognized that decent communication skills are sort of necessary to get people interested and engaged.

Why does this, most basic thing, need to be explained to you?

I see the mistake you’re making. See, around here, we don’t really like each other very much. Mostly we just tolerate one another to pass the time between posts.

And especially this. Well, not really. But for most of us, a message board suffices for communication. And we put a value on concise communication. We have little patience for people who use acronyms and jargon who don’t explain them and expect everyone to just “get” it. We’re not antisocial, in fact people often have Dopefests, where we meet in person and get acquainted. But as elbows and others have said, spend some time lurking and getting a feel for the board’s culture before trying too hard to attract posters onto unfamiliar sites for webcam chat and whatever. We’re not all Luddites here, but some of us brag about not having a smartphone or even a TV, so you have to bring us about slowly before expecting us to jump in with both feet. And take a little more time to get to know us here before dragging people off somewhere else to get to know them.
