I turn to you again, Oh Knowldgable Dopers...

Chief Editor at work put out another Questionaire, and some of these I am unable to find so far through web searches. So I present to you founts of knowledge another opportunity to win me a free dinner.

  1. What was the original title of The Clash’s biggest-selling album (Combat Rock), which contained the hits “Rock the Casbah” and “Should I Stay or Should I Go”?

  2. What was the first #1 song on the Billboard music charts, and who was the artist?

from what I’ve found, it could either be Let Me Go Lover by Joan Weber, or Ain’t That a Shame by Pat Boone, but more evidence seems to point towards the first one. Any confirmation?

  1. Which high school quarterback holds the record for most touchdown passes completed in a career, and which high school did he play for?

  2. The airport in what non-sea-coastal city handled the most freight in 2000?

  3. How many countries use the U.S. dollar as official currency?

I’m thinking 2 (Bermuda and Baham

Well, don’t be tricked into forgetting the US for number 10, unless it asks for countries other than the US.

Otherwise, I don’t know any of the trivia… good luck.

for 9, i’m thinking memphis, unless it is outside of the us.

CE told me #9 refers to the whole world.

I found #6: Rhett Lashlee (Springdale Shiloh Christian, AR), 1998-01 — 171 TDs

Thanks Eonwe, almost forgot!

That was my gut instinct when I read the question. I briefly considered Atlanta (isn’t that the UPS hub?), but I really lean a lot stronger towards Memphis.

We discussed the currency question in this thread from a while back, but I’m afraid it’s a moving target and open to interpretation. If you “peg” your currency to the dollar, it may or may not count as adopting the dollar as your official currency.

Re. #9:

Cite. (Link doesn’t go directly to page, since they’re using frames. It’s on the “history” page.

Thanks for the help everybody, that just leaves the question about the Clash. Maybe I’ll ask it in Cafe Society, mods permitting.

#2 Rat Patrol From Fort Bragg

I believe this was the title, but it was a different album at the time that was reworked into Combat Rock. Can anyone else verify this?

I also posted the answer on your Cafe thread
