I walked out on my Boss

Wait… I thought you had found a new position? Or is this the new one (the one you’re walking out on)?

You’re flying on my birthday. Since I control all weather and good fortune on that day, I bid you a fair journey. <gestures regally>

Ughhhh.

I have not posted on my situation, it’s just not relevant, but in March I was RIFed from Kwajalein, which is just as well; I was ready to jump shit anyway and this at least gave me 30 days severance and a ticket home at the company’s expense.

Which is my way of saying I kinda know how you feel. All the company crap, the crap in an international move, getting your life back on track, etc., etc.

You have my deepest sympathy; but sometimes it’s just not worth putting up with it any more and hey, ya did the manly thing! Personally, I can not think of a better way of ending that meeting than just walking out like you did.

All the best, Paul, and I am sure you will find better things to do and better companies to work for!

What the heck does anyone do on Kwajalein nowadays? I could teach English to the gooney birds.

Hey Paul, we can always use skilled workers and cool people around these parts. And it’s a lot less arid here.

Yeah , bet its gonna be paul in leafland

Declan

I’d think after a few weeks anyone would do just about anything to leave Kwaj. Talk about remote.

No way, man, we need him here in Calgary. So, Paul, how about moving to Calgary? It’s niiiiice here.

I vote for Paul (not) in Saudi

It snows in Canada. There I said it. It might be rude, it might not be PC, but it’s true.

Well, not ALL the time. There’s that two week period in July…

And we’ve been getting quite a lot of [del]not-frozen snow[/del] rain lately. It’s green and leafy here, Paul. Green and leafy!

Typo or newfangled expression I hadn’t heard of yet? I like it either way.

Paul in Saudi, I’m still confused - are we talking about the old job you were leaving anyway or the new one you were about to start?

New Paul…now 100% Saud-Free ?

Paul Out Of Saudi

Thirding the confusion. I thought you’d got another job in Saudi.

Yes, my sordid past is catching up with me.

About a month ago, I flew over to Dammam to interview with the local university. Nice interview. It went well.

I came home and posted “I got the job.”

A few days alter, I got an e-mail. Excitedly, I opened it. “It’s not you, its us.” I was so distraught that I did not post this devastating update. I would have been awkward and painful. (NOw however it is simply awkward and painful.)

Besides, I suspect blog-like posts about my life are not too interesting.

You should post them just for the serendipitous typos.
(Did I mention it was 26ºC here yesterday? It was hot, man! Hot, I tell you!)

41 degrees here on my way back to the house. It is 11.30 in the morning. The heat of the day is still coming.

Paul was in Saudi

your suspicions are incorrect. post about your life are interesting.

i hope you find a new job and place easily and quickly.
