I want my cookies NOW!

I’ve just whipped up a batch of no-bake chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies. I want some now! But I have to wait for them to cool and set. :frowning:

Cool? From what?

From cooking. Gotta boil the sugar, cocoa, milk and butter.

Ooooh I love those cookies. I might have to make some!

Cow Patties!!! I love cow patties.

Somehow they don’t sound quite as tasty now…

Well, at least it won’t be as painful to wait for them to cool and set now.

Mind posting the recipe?

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 tsp. salt
3 cups oatmeal

Put the sugar, milk, cocoa and butter in a pan and bring to a boil on medium heat, stirring frequently. Cool one minute and add remaining ingredients. Stir well and drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper. Allow to cool and set. They’re better when they’re more ‘cookie-like’, but I’ve had two just now that were still gooey because I couldn’t wait.

Oh – Instead of dropping by teaspoons as grandma’s recipe says, I use tablespoons. Freakin’ big tablespoons. Got 18 cookies out of the mix.

Those are called Charlie Browns. Yum.

Thank you!

I think I may make some tonight. Man, my roommate is going to hate me (as she eats half of the batch).

OIC. Obviously I’m not familiar with the “no bake” concept! I hope they’re cool enough to enjoy now!

They’re easy enough. I don’t know what got into me, or why the thought popped into my head. But they’re so easy I couldn’t resist – even if I did have to turn off the heat and go down to the corner market for some vanilla.

Now if only I could find grandma’s recipes for persimmon cookies and sour cream raisin pudding…

Nuh-uh! Those are called Grandma’s Oatmeal Cookies. At least they were by my grandmother.

Thanks for posting the recipe, Johnny LA. I think I might attempt to make a batch of those myself. Perhaps even without setting the entire kitchen ablaze in the process.

Mmm… Now they’re set and cookie-like. I’ve only been up for two hours, and I’ve already eaten three of them!

I should go to the market and get more cocoa and peanut butter so I can make some for my friends.

Mmmmm…

Today it’s molasses spice cookies, which I don’t get to chow because they’re the last batch for our Grand Canyon raft trip (leaving Tuesday!). Maybe I’ll try the no bakes for extras!

I’m going to have to make some more. I put most of them in a baggie and left them at the studio. I have three cookies that wouldn’t fit in the baggie.

And I have done.
