Well I know the basic plot of each episode from snpp.com, so I brought it on myself. Sigh.
I agree that a Halloween episode should be on Halloween or before. In principle. (Sorry!) The thing is, I’ll be home from college for a five day weekend, so I get to watch a new Simpsons at home with my brother, like in the old days. So in a way I’m glad they waited till it was convenient for me. In principle, though, you’re right. Halloween episodes belong in October. It’s nature and all.
Is Futurama really being picked up by CN? That’s awesome!! They showing new eps too? I hope so!!!
A thought on why the delay: October 31 means nothing to TV networks. November 1 does.
By holding it back slightly it slips what is likely the most popular episode they show each year falls into that nice little period known as sweeps. Those Fox execs are crafy ones.
As much as I love Futurama (its been better than The Simpsons!) I doubt Cartoon Network will order more. They don’t have the money for it. They’ve been nice enough to pick up other orphaned shows like Baby Blues, Oblongs and Home Movies but they haven’t actually renewed them (though maybe Home Movies will be because its Flash anime).
On another point: Is it just me or has the quality of the TOH shows slipped the past few years? I only say that because the TOH episodes were always incredible. By being able to essential do anything in them (unlike, or almost unlike the regular episodes anyway :)) they were usually the funniest shows ever. But the last 2 or 3 years I’ve been disappointed.
No, it’s not just you. The quality of the show as a whole has also slipped (imho) so it’s not surprising. Still better than 90% of everything else on TV, though.
I think maybe it’s because they’re running out of well-known horror and science fiction stories to parody. (They’re down to even doing fairy tales now.)
