OK, it is from Microsoft, but still…I want this computer!
Well, I don’t think it comes as a surprise to anyone that Microsoft would be taking its cues from the MCP, does it?
A little late to the party, aren’t you?
As cool an idea as this seems, the flat orientation, and the lack of “give” when you press on the glass, is likely to be tiring and unpleasant after a short while.
I have one in my office. Here’s the official MSFT page for the device: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/
We build some cool GIS apps which run on it and we sell the device as well as our software for it as one component of our vertical market suite.
It is very, very cool for what it does. And it makes a superb executive plaything to get a signature on the purchase deal for our whole enterprise application stack.
I’m not yet sold that it really has any practical use. But I know everybody who sees it is grinning like a fool while playing with it & our stuff on it. And that’s good enough for me right now.
To the OP: Did you notice that article is two years old?
