Of course it is. I am the one who suggested it and nowhere did I say that it wasn’t. Within the OP’s constraints it is one of his best chances though. He wants the following:
Make a million dollars
instantly, or in very short term
with the best odds
using only about $2 a week
and not requiring any significant effort.
In this case I think Roulette is the best solution. It is not a good solution because it is a stupid problem to begin with. Garbage in, garbage out. I challenge you to beat this particular solution to this dumb problem.
PS - I note that this looks a little hostile. That is unintentional. I really would like to see if you can come up with a better solution given the rather extreme limitations.
As I said, if we are talking casino games, I think betting on the bank in Baccarat is better than roulette, since the house edge is quite a bit slimmer. Baccarat, like roulette, requires no thought or skill.
A casino game I hadn’t thought of before would be those progressive slot machines where the player can have an advantage if the jackpot goes high enough. Now I don’t know if you reach that edge at a million or, say, 100 million. If it’s the latter, then it won’t work (as our objective is only 1 million), at around a million it might.
Sure, the odds might be better but it is a hell of a lot more work for someone who doesn’t want to work and didn’t care for the idea of casinos particularly. With Roulette you need to win three bets in a row because it pays 35 to 1. Baccarat only pays 1 to 1 (with the occasional 8 to 1 for a tie). For a game with players dealing that takes its time this would take forever. Not to mention it is a more intimidating game.
If your started with a $50 bet it would take you 15 hands. That’s easily less than 1 hour, probably more like 30 minutes. I didn’t realize the OP was in that big of hurry.
I do admit the Baccarat table might be scary for a rookie, but I don’t think that would bother anybody who has a set of brass ones big enough to try something this crazy anyway.
He seems to want to avoid learning as much as possible while losing his money. The benefit with roulette is that you barely need to be breathing. You sure as heck don’t have to deal or as you do in Baccarat.
Not to take this any further than it really needs to be taken, but you don’t have to deal in Baccarat. The shoe moves around the table, but you can pass on your turn. Even if you do deal, the casino dealer will tell you exactly what to do.
Why not try a life of crime? I’m sure I could think of a way to steal a million bucks…somehow. And if you get caught? Well…free room and board for some long stretch of time. And a bonus companion named Bubba tossed in for free!
Sounds like a win/win to me…
(Since the odds of winning at the lottery are so ridiculously long, and since this has been explained to the OP in detail I don’t know what more there is to say. If the OP wants to waste his/her money on the lottery weekly then so be it. To the OP I’d just say play whatever lottery floats your boat…since the odds are between 600k to 1 and several million to 1 it seems pretty much a wash, so pick whatever is closest and don’t hold your breath).
