I want to write a romance novel

…“Miss Whoever the Heck You Are, you’re not the only one having a bad day. I hate fast food myself, sitting in line just to settle a bet, and most especially in front of a honking horn.”

Here he looked back to see if the cashier was ready yet. No dice.

“Those poor kids in there are so short staffed, but do you care? I started out in a place like this and…” here the cashier finally leaned out and waved a signal.

With a snort of disgust at Tawny the BMW driver hurried back to his car. A large bag was passed out to him, and Tawny thought he spoke briefly to the cashier as he thrust some cash at her and sped off.

She hadn’t been able to get a peep out while he blasted her but she managed to pull up to the window. It seemed that her order was already being passed out, and when Tawny began to hand some money out the obviously bewildered cashier asked her “Did you know that guy? He told me to let you know your order is paid for, and” here the girl gulped in surprise “he tipped me $10! I’ve never had that happen, not even once! Umm, have a nice day ma’am!”

Tawny just managed to get back on time to the parking garage in the office building where she worked. She scurried to the elevator as fast as possible, and as she did she passed the close in VIP visitors parking area.

“OMG” she breathed, as she saw a familiar looking silver BMW already parked. “Please don’t let me run into that guy again!”

Huh, “Finish the Romance Story.” There could be something here.

For some reason I never even considered that there were gay/lesbian romance novels. I knew there was erotica but not a standard sort of “romance” (or at least what I’d consider a romance).

Yep. And those who have made it big with Harlequin backgrounds routinely aren’t even stocked in the romance section anymore or are stocked both in romance, fiction or sometimes mystery. I suspect there are some that are routinely on the bestseller list that many don’t even know about their genre backgrounds, like Janet Evanovich, Iris Johansen, Tami Hoag, Elizabeth Lowell, Linda Lael Miller, Lisa Gardener, Kay Hooper, Linda Howard, Nora Roberts (aka JD Robb) , Jayne Anne Krentz, etc. Course Nora Roberts is practically a genre all by herself.

We could title it Naked Came the Doper.
