I was just on NPR!

I was going to start a thread in GD about this (and maybe it will make it there), but I just talked to Kojo Nnamdi on the air about how it seems to me that the administration was lying to us from the get-go and why so many people bought into the lies. It was a spur-of-the-moment thing, so I don’t really feel I prepared myself well enough for the dialogue. Anyone hear it?

Alas, I get no reception inside during the work day. As far as why so many people bought into the lies, I think it stems from the idea that an administration can or would lie to us being too awful to think about.

Do you remember when you first found out there were corrupt cops, or that your teachers were just regular people? It’s like that to the gorzillionth power. My choices are to delude myself into believeing I believe the crap that’s been shovelled our way OR believe that everything I learned about honor and integrity means absolutely nothing, in which case I’d get really mad and have to do something about it so…maybe there really were WMD*

Thats’ my take anyway.

*This is not my actual position. This is my own interpretation of how a person could possibly not be really pissed off.

I listened to the first 20 minutes of Kojo today, but I don’t recall your comment. I may have just missed you. Cool, though, I love Kojo!!
