I washer my iPhone!

Isn’t there an "Oh Shit Lost or Stolen Clause? I seem to remember my brother having a lost/stolen/fubar clause on his iPhone…

No, I never do for any product. And I still won’t. This doesn’t change my mind about that.
I’m usually very careful to cneck my pockets beofre loading the washer. This one time I didn’t. The machine had barely started when I realized where my phone was.

I washing your iPhone!

Apple recommends that in cases like this, you go ahead and buy another iPhone. Maybe pick up a new iPod and an AppleTV while you’re at it.

I dunked my Palm once.
I took the lid off, wicked as much water out of crevices as I could. It took two days to dry completely. I cleaned some circuit traces with a tissue and after recharging it was functional again.

but but but Ican likes bad grammers.

I’m sorry, I’m done now.

Iphone In Ur Pckt, Scrwng Ur Wsh!!!1

Any chance you bought it with an American Express card? They replace items that were stolen or accidentally damaged w/in 90 days of purchase.

No such luck.

Any way you can create some kind of humidor? Keep it dry as hell… I like the rice idea. If you can, open the phone up as much as possible and just let it sit in the rice loaded box for a few days… not sure what temp to keep it at?

As a fellow early iPhone adopter as well – you have me on pins and needles. Let us know if she comes back to you.

sell it on ebay

That’s it! The first iPhone modified to work underwater!

Wouldn’t buying insurance be for that one time you leave it in your pocket and wash you clothes?

I’m on my boat a lot, I have a tendency to drop lot’s of stuff in the ocean that I don’t mean to. I purchase the insurance on my phones because I’m forgetful and I know I’ll drop it or break it at some point in the two year contract. Last time I dropped my phone in Long Island Sound I called T-Mobile, gave them my account number and they sent me a new phone with-in 24 hours. For an extra couple bucks at time of purchase I’d consider that a good buy.

Well, the insurance costs considerably more than just a couple bucks. And this is the first time in my memory I’ve had a problem like this with anything. I have had a couple devices fail, but always within the warranty period. Like I said, I’m generally pretty careful with my gadgets.
I don’t buy extended warranties either.
Actually, I don’t recall seeing an offer of insurance that would cover my mishap.

And Consumer Reports generally recommends against purchasing such insurance, on the basis that, in the end run, it will not be economically sound to do so in all cases.

I gotcha, I was just wondering. I don’t have an iPhone but when my bro bought his he bought the extended warranty. Not sure how much it was…
