There is so much truth to that. I mean, it seems like they started a war to distract from the Epstein Files, then when the war turned controversial they needed something else to distract from that, so now there’s this ballroom thing that they claim is needed for national security. Oh, and let’s paint the reflecting pool!
One of my favorite moments from the show The Good Place is where the character Jason Mendoza talks about using a Molotov cocktail to fix his problems.
It was a funny joke on that show, but that seems to be an actual strategy of this administration. It would be funny if it wasn’t for the fact that these clowns run the country. Which instead makes it terrifying.
And they are talking about giving 1.7 Billion (with a B) to the insurectionist (traitors). Or so they say. That’s another distraction. I doubt they will see a dime of it.
Of all the stupid ideas Trump has spouted, surely this one is not a terrible idea?
Most pools are either tiled or painted with anti-algae paint. I mean, sure, I don’t put it past him to use gold, and install a huge self-portrait in the middle, but occasional repainting is just a maintenance issue. Should be routine.
Even if we ignore all the other BS around painting it (like saying he got multiple bids but then awarded a $1.8m no-bid contract to a contractor he said he’s worked with in the past and then paid them over 700% more while claiming he’d never worked with that contractor), the issue seems to be not that it’s being painted, but that he’s changing the color to blue and people are concerned it’s going to look like a swimming pool.
Better he focus on the reflecting pool and his conference center then on starting another war. Sadly, he seems to be doing that, too. Good luck to Cuba.
Just heard about the massive clashes in NJ between ice protesters, supporters, and agents. Apparently it’s been going on for the last two days or so and slowly getting worse. The news hasn’t really been reporting on it that I’ve seen, though (save for CNN now, a bit)…because I was just made aware of it today (and usually check the news many times per day).
Surprised there wasn’t anyone talking about this in any other ICE thread yet, by the way…maybe not many, like me, knew it was going on?
My friend’s daughter was beaten and gassed there, and the fuckin’ NJ Nazis, sorry, state police, are joining in on the fun. I’ll find out more when I see him this morning.
I don’t know why it’s not getting more coverage. Our governor was refused entry or something crazy.
A friend of mine has been going there once a week to protest for months, basically on a rotating basis. I’m a bit nervous about his plan to be there, I think tomorrow is his day.
I do. I can’t stand any other news broadcasts. Well, I watch local news if there’s something going on like the Garden Grove evacuation. CNN is unwatchable.
