Sudan has many pyramids dotted throughout the country (although, if you want massive pyramids then you have to go to Egypt).
While further south you will find that there are many Christian monasteries in Ethiopia and Eritrea some of which stretch back to the 6th CE (Debre Damo, DebreBizen, Lalibela).
However the most iconic structures in these countries are their massive and numerous pre-christian Axumite obelisks.
I forgot to add Ethiopia’s medieval castles at Gondor(Yes, that’s the real name of the place).
