ID military radio antennea seen in Predator, please.

“If it bleeds, we can, …well, the the Playboy Channel off GNIK1.”, or something.

Anyway, when Arnold and friends take the fake Venturabackpack24Volt6000rpmminigun into the bush to fight the Predator, they make a call, to “6” the chgeneral, I suppose, using a radio setup that featured, what I would describe, as a “mini-dish made with chainmail”. I figger this setup would be the father of Stevie Seagull’s “Seal-Phone” that he found laying about in a lifeboat amidships.

My best friend/boss was 2nd Bat Ranger outta Ft. Lewis back in, shit…'84ish or '83, I was still in highschool, says this shit is real, and said they had a very brief training session using this setup, with the chainmail antennea, and were told under extreme shit not to talk about this equipment/technology.

But then Arnold gets it in a movie, and not too shortly thereafter.

What is the name of this equipment? It should be all obsolete these days. Shit, I have put in enough searches on Ebay and Google that the Feds have reversed my peephole. I want one.

Is GNIK1 still up there?

I’d need a picture to properly identify it. But, there are plenty of SATCOM radios. I have seen stuff from actual small dishes, a fat antenna, stuff that would look like four leaves, to something that would resemble a tree made from black sticks.

But, maybe you mean this guy? There are quite a few variants of the PSC radio. Just google “PSC radio” and under images you should find it.

My radiopal made this little piece of folkart.

Tis the season upload target coordinates.
