ID this book, from a pitifully sparse memory.

It was some kind of piecemeal parody book. It was hysterical.

How much of it do I remember? Two bits.
One was (I believe) a stand-up nightclub comedy bit as performed by the Green Knight (of “Sir Gawain and the…” fame).

The other was a series of parodies of “Trees” that ran through the book (“I think that I shall never see/A poem lovely as a tree” etc.)
Given these two, very vaguely remembered fragments, does this ring any bells with anybody? You will be my hero for the day, particularly if I can find it on Amazon.

Could it possibly be some MAD Magazine offering?

I don’t think so. It was a book, for sure. I thought for a while it was “The Stinky Cheese Man” but that seems to be a different book.

The Book Of Sequels?

OTTOMH it contains Sir Gawain And A Night At The Opera

Damn, Doc, you have done the nigh-impossible. That’s the one. Thank you! You are my hero for the day!
