Id this calendar date?

In hopes that a more detailed version is coming, I’ll register my guess that the calendar pic is actually of an oil field. XR Oil Price - World Oil Fields

Yay! What do I win?

But in the interests of being fair: Although I did hit that date first in my first post, my initial guess really was September 1953, until a bit more discussion, and then I came back to April.

Still, I’m impressed we were able to nail that date with some common sense and research.

Here’s the pic. I don’t know that this is a full resolution upload, so it might not be any more obvious in this. As I mentioned before, it wasn’t clear by any means, but I could make out the shape of the “A” and two large blobs that would be “P” and “R” and then two narrow “smudges” that would be “I” and “L.”

Thanks! The calendar’s still just a blur to me.

I originally thought it was horses pulling a wagon, but in that scan it now looks more like two dogs. (That is definitely a better quality version than we had to go on before!)

That’s not the calendar you’re looking for.

Yep. A pair of hounds, (beagles or somewhat larger breed), facing to the viewer’s left. (Blown up, the tail of the dog on the right can be seen against the backdrop of dark trees.)

I’m pretty sure the month is April. The first day of the month appears to be a Tuesday. Assuming this picture was taken in the 1950s, this would mean April 1952 or April 1958, the two occasions in that decade on which the first day in April was a Tuesday. If the boy in the foreground was indeed born around 1944, I would go for 1952 since the kid appears to be younger, 8 years old, definitely not 14 years.

So my guess would be the picture was taken in April of 1952.

On reading the whole thread, I realized the puzzle had already been solved. It was fun, anyway.

It was even more fun with the first photo, which was much lower resolution, and much murkier.
