ID this comedy sketch, July 2021 edition

There’s a sketch I have a vague memory of having seen on some comedy show in the early '90s when I was 8 or 9 or so. It may have been SNL, but it may have also been The State, or Almost Live, or Tracey Ullman, or some other sketch show of that era that I don’t even remember the name of.

The idea was that it was a game show where the announcer, the host, and two of the contestants (aside from the third, the straight man) are talking so fast as to be almost incoherent, with the comedy arising from the fact that the third contestant has no idea what anyone is saying and can’t keep up. The title of the show was something like “AYDIMADEE HYDAHEE” (which obviously isn’t the correct spelling as it’s not providing any hits on Google). The one question I can recall the host asking was something like “What is thelargestanima?”, which the third contestant responds to with confusion, before another contestant buzzes in with the (apparently) right answer “Grizzlibear!”

Any of this ringing any bells with anyone?

SNL did Japanese Game Show around that time. Not exactly as you described, but definitely the same premise.

It’s definitely not the Japanese Game Show sketch. I remember watching that one when it first came out, and it occupies a different spot in my memory than the fast-talking sketch. I specifically remember the title of the show being in western letters, and the straight man contestant definitely wasn’t Chris Farley. The sketch was in English, albeit delivered incoherently fast.

I don’t remember it but maybe the premise is they are all auctioneers which may help you find it?
