A movie made probably late '70s to mid '80s where the stained glass windows in a church come to life and try to kill someone.
That’s it. That’s all I got. But I can see the stained glass knight jump out of the window, shattering it, waving his stained glass sword.

That must be the movie that the OP is remembering. BTW, the Wikipedia article mentions that the knight character was the first fully computer-generated one in a movie.

I recently watched a documentary about Pixar that features that scene. Really impressive stuff.
