ID this movie

A couple months ago, I was at the theatre and there was a trailer for a film that looked pretty good. IIRC, it was due to hit theaters within the next month or so…and I made a mental note to look for it. In the past couple months however, I have heard nothing more about it…never seen the trailer again, and have seen no previews on TV.

From what I can remember, the movie was about a fictional band from the 60’s (that may possibly have been based loosely on a real band from that era), and it appeared to be a comedy. A couple clips I recall were of various band members in the present day. One of them was a girl. There was also a bit about how whenever this band (or possibly another band that had something to do with the other) put out a record, you knew it was going to be one word, ending in “in’” and some of the examples were playin’, ramblin’, singin,’ things like that. I also remember a clip of a guy and a girl being interviewed, which had been members of this fictional band. The girl said something to the interviewer, and then the guy said “I really don’t remember too much,” or something to that effect.

I believe the word “wind” might have been in the title, preceded by an adjective, but I’m not positive on that.

I was wondering if someone could tell me what it was? Has it been released yet? Thanks.

That there’s A MIGHTY WIND!

son of Waiting for Guffman, great nephew of Best in Show, idiot stepchild of Spinal Tap…
