This is a snippet of some archive footage that shows up frequently in docs and retrospects on Muhammad Ali. It’s a lieutenant colonel giving a press conference on Ali’s refusal. Who is he? Contemporary references indicate Lt. Col. J. Edwin McKee gave a press conference, so it might be he, but I’ve been unable to corroborate that that name can be attached to this person. Anyone???
[bump!]
Al Traina?
The video wouldn’t come up for me, but I remember it well, and I have no idea.
Here is a picture of McKee escorting Ali from the premises; he looks a bit, but not a lot, like the guy in the video, but he’s wearing glasses and it’s a B&W photo, so maybe. McKee was the commandant of the induction station - is that a LTC’s billet?
I do think they might be the same person
