ID this post-2002 pop song for me.

A friend of mine asked me to ID a song for him that must have come out in the last year or two. It’s a popular song that samples the rhythm and guitar track from the Hall and Oats song “I Can’t Go For That”. I vaguely remember hearing the song a couple of times, but I don’t really listen to pop music enough to know what the song is called or who performs it.

Anyone know what the song is called and who made it?

Could Tamia be who you’re thinking of?

No, I don’t think that’s it. The sample that I’m thinking of is a loop that takes place before the singing starts in the original H & O song.

Anyone else?

P. Diddy did a recent song over a background of “I Can’t Go For That”.

Simply Red’s “Sunrise.” I love that song.

It’s “Rio”, by Duran Duran.

We have a winner! No, no, we have a wise ass!

Anyhow, the P. Diddy guess above sounds about right. I’m sending a link to this thread to my pal so he can investigate some more.

If there are any other guesses out there, toss them in the pile
