Dopics are smart ear-buds installed with each user’s DNA identification profile. Through the use of predictive technology, bio-metric data and connection to the IoT, they deliver a new definition the concept of life music. Music tailored to suit each user’s own music preference, mood, location, weather status and any other data collected. The ear-buds are connected to the Dopic app within supported devices allowing the user to set his/her own music taste to narrow the scope of the new music they wish to discover and experience. Dopic ear-buds are the future of music, music will choose us, this means; easy choices, great music and a new way to experience music for all users.
The purpose of the Dopics are to tackle the problem of oversaturation of the music industry making it difficult for music artists to penetrate in the market (due to all the ‘noise’). They are aimed at the end-user, but they focus on the music artists as well. The Dopic ear-buds tackle the problem by acting as a filter for the distribution and the process of delivering the music to the user. Only the music the user wants to hear and that which impacts the user’s emotions will be chosen to be played and this will determine the quality of the music, thus music which does not make it will be sent back to the artist with feedback.
The Dopics give new or aspiring music artists a chance for their music to be heard and if their music is not being listened to, it will be sent back to the artist and they will receive feedback.
It would be about 15 nanoseconds until the music service started selling targeted ads based on location, genre, time of day, etc. Go past a convenience store? An ad for milk interrupts. On the bus? You get the audio extension of whatever ad you’re looking at (based on the earbuds working out what direction your head is pointing). Talking to someone? You get an ad based on the content of your conversation. If you’re lucky, the ad waits until there’s a lull in the conversation…
You have a great mind, thanks for your input, cool idea.
There’s one pothole I have yet to cover up though, I’ve prototyped this and had conversations with various people about the concept, and I’ve realised people say usually, “If I’m sad will it play sad music or happy music”, I respond basically by saying it will know what you want to listen to, but I wish I could explain how it would work and the technology behind it in a better way, although this is speculated for 2076 so I can’t really explain the tech (functionality) to everyone.
But I guess what ‘you’ think is sad music or happy and what ‘I’ think is sad or happy music is subjective. And after some research apparently people actually listen to sad music to cheer up.
It would play music of your current mood, but it will also know what music you would want to hear based on that current mood, whether that be sad or happy, and if the music picked for you is not to your liking I guess you can skip, but that would just destroy the concept because it’s supposed to pick music tailored for the user (knowing they will 100% like it based on their user data). I don’t know how to overcome that.
You’ve got technology that can reliable predict what you want to hear, then give it to you? This tech will never reach your theoretical “Dopics”-it will be confiscated and used by governments to turn us into actual “sheeple”. They would know exactly what buttons to push, and when.
I envisioned the Dopic ear-buds to harness a futuristic Identification system that through DNA profiling of the user would allow to fully identify who it is that is using the product for security/personal reasons, etc. I also don’t think it would gather quality or sufficient data back from the user to predict what music he/she likes. As for bio-metric data, I thought it would focus on behaviometrics, which would monitor the pattern of behaviours of a person to deliver the person with music suited for their current behaviours. This concept is speculated for the year of 2076 for my project so it’s alright if my technology speculations do not make sense or are nonsense but yeah(more worried on the problem and who this is tackling it).
Spare me. I don’t use ear buds, I never will, and I choose my own music, song by song on personally-collated playlists, independent of any criteria mentioned. This sounds like a new form of astrology, trying to force people into compartments of character based on criteria that have tenuous, if any, validity. I’m “supposed to” want to listen to Sagittarius music.
I should also mention that the ear-buds are connected to the Dopic app on supported devices to allow for further connectivity, within the app I envision the users to choose their music preferences to narrow the scope of what kind of new music they wish to listen to. Although this product does have the end-user in mind, I was also trying to focus on new or aspiring music artists and somehow making them stand out within all the ‘noise’(over-saturation of music). So I thought that through this product (the Dopics) non-mainstream artists have a greater chance to be heard and it would help them penetrate the music market. I thought I should add the feature which puts music in a hierarchy depending on what music is being heard, only the music the user wants to hear and that which impacts/moves the user’s ‘emotions’ will be chosen to be played and this will determine the ‘quality’ of the music, if music is not listened to (because it doesn’t move the users ‘soul’) it would be removed/deleted and the artist would be notified and given feedback. I’m really focused on the over-saturation of music making it difficult for artists to stand out and tackling that problem via this product.
Any suggestions/feedback/critiques would help, anything at all.
