Ideas for hardwood floor... shining?

I’m looking to do something to help our floors. We’re in a fairly old house, and the floors just haven’t been maintained, for many tenants before us. Since we have all manner of shit in here already, and since we’re just renting, taking a weekend to refinish them the right way is off the table. Having said that, the internet seems to think that there are products out there that will give some sort of visible difference, but some seem to be nothing but overt advertisements.

I guess the short version is: what would give us the most bang for only a moderate amount of buck, what’s the longevity of that method like, and is it going to be worth our while?

I got a jug of Jobmaster High Gloss Floor Finish from Costco years ago. It doesn’t appear to be made anymore, but a janitorial supply place would carry something similar - an acrylic floor polish. I use it on our ancient wood floors and they look like they were just refinished.

Consult the paint experts at the nearest Big Box Store!

Is that the stuff that you slop on with a sponge mop? What’s the longevity of it like? If it’s something I have to do every month, I’d give it the thumbs down, but even every 6 months would be OK.

It lasts a long time. I was doing it about once a year.
