Identify Charlemagne's 'March States'

Andorra is the last of the “March States” created by Charlemagne as a buffer between France and the muslim-held lands to the south and west. If my facts are correct, it was captured from the Moors and chartered to the Andorran people very early in the 800’s. I always thought that this buffer zone was simply the “Spanish March”, an occupied band of territory between France and the Ommayad Kingdom of Spain. So I’m curious. I’ve checked my encyclopedia, history books, and online resources, but nothing in my library hints at anything more specific than what I’ve outlined above.

  1. What were the names of the other March States?
  2. How long did these states exist before they were absorbed by France or Spain?

I won’t swear to it, as I don’t have my references handy at the moment, but I believe that Catalonia is the primary remnant of the old Spanish March. I believe in it’s original incarnation, it was the County of Barcelona ( ruled by a ount in Barcelona, naturally  ), which later expanded and merged with the Kingdom of Aragon ( I forget actually if that was a merger or if the county morphed directly into the Kingdom - I’ll check in the morning ).

However it’s entirely possible I’m just confused and conflating later territorial developments with the old Carolingian March system.
