“Ninteen-hundred seventy-four is the year they are now planning for sex on the streets in every major city from coast to coast. And, get ready for a shock, the music they’re using to crumble the morals of America is that dirty, stinking, perverted filth called rock’n’roll.”

It appears at the beginning of a dance record from about 10 years back, called (I think) “Sex On The Streets” by Fatboy Slim, or someone of that ilk. What I’d like to know is who said it originally and when.

It was preacher Jack Van Impe, sometime in 1974. You can get the mp3 here.

“Nineteen hundred seventy-four is the year that they are now planning for sex on the streets in every major city from coast to coast. And -get ready for a shock- the music that they’re planning to use to crumble the morals of America is this rotten, filthy, dirty, lewd, lascivious JUNK called rock and roll. It isn’t just the lyrics, it’s the BEAT! I preached it to my conversion story which you can get (inaudible) how this beat gets them 400 teenage girls in Detroit interviewed as to why they had illegitimate babies, they said ‘not just the words, the BEAT.’ The fertility rites of the jungles are the same beats (sound of drumming) incorporated in this modern rock, to stir them up.”

Note - the clip is not from Jack Van Impe Ministries International, but I have no doubt that it is him. That’s his voice and manner of preaching and he rags on rock the same way today.
