Identify this Charles Bronson movie please.

Near the end of the movie, Bronson’s assistant double crosses him and kills him. Then the movie ends showing the assistant entering his car where he finds a note left by Bronson (or was it a cassete?) essentially saying “If you can read this it means you killed me”. Then the car goes boom.

Which movie was that?

The Mechanic.

80% sure it was The Mechanic with Jan-Michael Vincent

Thank you! I also just realized that the Mechanic movie with Jason Statham is a remake of the old one! I’m off to see both movies!

Didn’t know there was a remake. I think I’ll skip that one, no offense.

Slightly OT, how does one correctly pronounce Jan Michael-Vincent? I always wondered. “The Mechanic” is a pretty good movie, though, I will add.

Jan is pronounced like the second daughter on the Brady Bunch and Micheal and Vincent are pronounced as usual.

Not to be confused with the Christian Bale film The Machinist, despite my brain’s repeated efforts to do so.

Wise decision, in my opinion. The remake goes overboard on some of the action. The final scene in particular was far better in the original, both physically plausible and dramatically engaging, neither of which I can say for the remake.
