My grandma believed that every natural wonder in the old West was done by Native Americans.
Sees a mesa or a butte? “Natives chopped the tops off of mountains to build towns so they were safe from wild animals or other tribes”. Sees the Grand Canyon? “Natives dug up the river bed looking for more water once the water levels ran low”. Sees Meteor Crater? “Natives built this as an artificial reservoir to catch rain water”.
She really thought Native Americans had a massive amount of free manpower laying around.
