If a man marries his own stepdaughter, then what will the children be called in relation to the man’s biological child with the stepdaughter’s deceased biological mother?

Man with child marries woman with child.
Man becomes stepfather to woman’s child.
Woman becomes stepmother to man’s child.
Woman dies.
Man falls in love with woman’s daughter and marries her, because the daughter grows up to be a splitting image of her mother.
Man and woman’s daughter have children.
What is the relationship of the children in this new relationship to Man’s biological child from the former marriage before he married Woman or Woman’s daughter?
Now, what happens if the Man’s first child marries the child of the Man and the Woman’s daughter?
Will they be half-siblings? Are these marriage arrangements even possible, or am I really creating a mess of things?

Does anybody have a family tree with many members marrying their own relatives (cousins, daughters, sons, nephews, nieces)?

Their surname would probably be “Allan”

This video explains it, complete with diagrams.

When the mom dies and the daughter marries the dad, she ceases to become the step-sister and is now the step-mother of the child of the dad. Their kids become the half siblings of the man’s kids.

I think the kids would be called “young Mormons”. Spiritual, extra-legal marriages (including incestuous and semi-incestuous ones) are a common occurrence in certain denominations of the religion, and the situation you describe in the OP happens even without the mother dying.

I like the original much better:

I think I still have it on my grandfathers old 78 somewhere.

Allen. With an “e”. Know how to spell the last name of a famous man who marries his stepdaughter. They got married in 1997, and he will be 80 in 2015. So Soon Yi is getting pretty old for him and he will have to find a younger woman. Ewww.

Except she wasn’t. Allen was never married to Mia Farrow, Soon-Yi Previn was never his stepdaughter, the anger of his son Ronan notwithstanding.

Common? Incestuous and semi (=what?) incestuous? Even check W, for God’s sake.

Also, the snarkiness is a little strong here. I can only wonder why you picked Mormons, of all the once and current polygamous cultures in the world…

Within certain denominations, yes. I’m not sure what “even check W” means.

Yeah, it’s just snark. They’re not the only ones, just the low-hanging fruit. I’ve read a few books on FLDS practices and think it’s fascinating. They’re particularly interesting because they’re probably the most prominent (that I know of) such group within the United States, a culture which typically frowns upon plural marriage or sexual relations with blood relatives.

I also just realized I confused step-daughter with half-daughter, so it makes a whole lot less sense. My bad. :smack:

What is a half-daughter?

I’m getting my family trees very, very confused. :frowning: I’ll just shut up now.

Jamie Lee Curtis?

Abominations?

“I don’t know what a ‘half-daughter’ is, but I have to imagine it’s a foul, disease-ridden thing, that wears too much makeup to cover up the fact that it’s a 47 year-old fish-dog.”

– With apologies to Family Guy

A “half daughter” would I suppose be similar to a daughter that is related by blood to only half of the parties in a marriage. Much easier, I should think, to refer to said daughter as a step daughter. But hey, what do I know??

He had children with Mia, and your son’s sister is your daughter, even if son’s Mom adopted the daughter. This may fly in a courtroom, but it is really creepy.

I know a woman whose father is also her grandfather.
