If aliens do exist (and im sure in this whole freaking universe there must be some other life forms) as large as the universe is would’nt the chance of us encountering them be very very unlikely. I mean we might never have the technology to leave our own solar system, and if the aliens do, wouldnt the chances be 1 in a trillion that they happened to head in our direction?
sorry…wouldn’t
And who says we haven’t contacted you? In secret, anyways.
 Ooops!
Yes, they most likely exist and yes, the distances involved are so imcomprehensibly huge that we will most likely never meet an alien species.
Well assuming we don’t nuke ourselves and man actually escapes to the cosmos, I don’t see what we won’t eventually find something out there.
Nah. The actual chance of an intelligent alien life form existing at the same time as us is extremely high, finding it higher still. If we actually foudn any alien civilisation ti would probably be only the ruins. Of if they found us the liklihood is that we would be nothign mroe then collapsing structures and lots of skeletons. Sorry.
The chances of intelligent alien lifeforms being humanoid, let alone even bilaterally symettrical are quite slim, after all, Humans evolved to fit a very specific group of environmental conditions, the chances of similar conditions existing elsewhere are highly improbable
as far as sci-fi shows go, Trek is the least accurate, as most of the onscreen “aliens” are simply “humanoids with bumpy foreheads or pointy ears”, the only show that even came close to examining the possibilities of alien life was Farscape, yes a good number of their aliens were bilateral humanoids, but they did have some nonhumanoid aliens;
P’Au Zotoh Zhann - a Delvian, a superevolved plant, yes she was humanoid in form, but she was a plant
Rygel XVI - a Hynerian, a short, amphibious toadlike alien
Pilot - a vaguely insectoid species permanantly bonded in a symbiotic fashion to Moya
Moya and Talyn- a Leviathan biomechanoid, a living ship, a “space whale” as it were, Talyn, her son, was genetically modified by the Peacekeeper millitary to grow weapons (normal Leviathans are completely defenseless, their only defensive maneuver is to Starburst away (similar to Hyperspace) )
Halosians - they look remarkably similar to the Skeksis from “The Dark Crystal” (i think the Henson Creature Shop was recycling their puppets )
'Scape seems to give the sci-fi viewer a far more realistic look at the potential diversity of alien life
But life does not just evolve in response to external conditions; there are certain shapes and forms that arise from simple cellular dynamics.
Sort of. I’ll try to find a more coherent explanation.
What environmental conditions on this planet encourage bilateral symetry? That sounds interesting …
why do aliens always use anal probes?
Whats so intresting about our poophole? Go figure, aliens travel for billions of miles and miles to probe my ass??
The original orders were to explore Uranus, but there was a lot of sunspot activity that week and the transmission came through a little garbled.
They have the technologie to travel lightyears and lightyears but they mistaken my little crowncap for a complete planet?
I disagree to about half of that statement. There’s a good possibility that intelligent alien life exists currently at some other place in the universe considering the vast size and number of systems out there.
But the idea of them finding us or us finding them must be low considering only what we know now. We don’t currently know of any way to efficiently search beyond our own solar system. In fact we have difficulty currently exploring within our system.
There are many hurdles that would need to be jumped before anyone can prove that we are capable of searching the universe for alien life. Sci Fi proposes some ideas, but of course that is only fiction.
… and much lower considering what we knew 100 years ago. But our current tech. state is irrelevant. The only thing that’s really relevant are absolute limits. The only one I can see:
It’s IMPOSSIBLE to create any sort of sustainable, closed-loop ecosystem capable of supporting intelligent lifeforms on anything less than a planetary scale.
If it is, we’re stuck here. If it’s not, then eventually, one would assume, some intelligent life–maybe us–will set up a colony-ship or fifty and fire them off at likely candidate stars (and our own telescopes will likely have identified 50 sunlike stars that would be a match for our own solar system within the next 2 decades). I can’t think of anything else that could possibly stop such a scheme. Even if the travel is quite slow, a determined civilization can colonize the entire galaxy in a very short period of time, cosmically speaking.
As to why we don’t see aliens, then … do a search on “Fermi Paradox” and you’ll see that many have pondered this problem for a long time. My personal preference is that we’re under covert surveillance/exploitation of some sort, and/or we’re in a Star-Trek- style sanctuary (i.e., an alien Prime Directive prohibits them from interacting with us until we’re more advanced).
Some abductees believe the anal probes are actually electrical stimulators used to force men to ejaculate so that the aliens can collect sperm. We humans use these on bulls at present:
Lots of galaxies, lots of planets…
Now what’s all of this talk about finding aliens? Don’t you guys watch the movies?
Of course, if we ever do find any aliens (or, more likely, they find us) I’m just hoping they’re friendly, I do not want to end up like Alderaan.
For anyone interested, here’s the famous Drake equation: N = R x fp x ne x fl x fi x fc x L for figuring the odds.
I cant believe there is a device that forces you to ejaculate. and plugged in in the back door??? Must be a big hit in gay S&M communities.
Ain’t science grand?
Yeah.
Engineers wife : honey how was your day
Engineer : great, me and the guys discovered a device that forces you to ejaculate.
Engineers wife : I’ll start packing my bags
