I disagree. As white males are forced to choose between celibacy and openness, and the sheer reduction in the numbers of women results in jerks being left mateless, the social pressure would push most males to the left of the political spectrum.
How? It doesn’t matter how the men act, there won’t be any women for them. The white women won’t be replaced by immigrants for years, maybe decades. We’re talking about ~100 million people going poof.
Besides, I don’t see why a conservative would turn into a liberal just because he has to date a non-white woman now. White women already hugely favor the Democrats, didn’t change 'em already.
How? Black men/white women and white men/asian women are the most common interracial couplings in the U.S. I only said maybe for asians because I’m pretty sure white dudes have jungle fever way more than the other way around. But I guess all women in NA would be winners since their value would increase dramatically overnight just out of increased demand.
Black Americans are on average, 18% European ancestry. Mexicans, in Mexico, are about 50-50 European/Native American ancestry. I’m assuming the numbers are similar for US Hispanics. So, still plenty of Euro DNA in the female minority population.
White guys take wives from the Latina and black population. They probably exhibit a preference for the most Euro looking women in these populations, with the white guys with the highest social status/money/education getting the pick of the litter. Their kids are substantially European genetically, and entirely white in a social sense. In all of the Americas, whiteness has always been socially and culturally defined, and subject to change depending on political circumstances.
The offspring of upper class white men and minority women become the new upper classes. A bit more tan and beige than before, but otherwise nothing really changes. This is more or less what’s already happened in most Latin American countries.
As TruCelt pointed out, the idea of unmixed whiteness anywhere in the Americas is a bit silly. Millions of white Americans currently have small amounts of African DNA. Almost all black Americans have European DNA. Large scale immigration from Mexico has resulted in a net increase in the percentage of European DNA in the US population.

Methinks not. Considering the number of racists and defenders of racists we get here on a regular and continuing basis, it’s a fair point to make and not driven by political correctness.
Phenotypic? Sure. But as we have seen repeatedly across multiple threads, some people mean phenotype, others mean genotype, and others mean “I’ll tell you on a case by case basis”. Again, considering the large ecology of racists we see on a regular basis, it’s a fair question to straighten this out ahead of time and save ourselves the trouble.
Some pretty serious social upheaval, that’s for sure. But the biological imperative would assert itself and within a generation America would be looking much browner.

Answers like this are the classic definition of “knee-jerk” based on OP as it stands. Notice even currently we have a general question on evolution change among populations–which of course is, God knows, a valid scientific inquiry. (So is eugenics, as a concept.) My first thought was that OP wandered over from there with a direct question/thought to focus a concept and didn’t want to hijack. One might look at Brazil as the closest* approximation of the OP’s hypothetical. There are all shades of white to black and different classification depending on where one falls in the spectrum. We, in the US, once had a system not unlike that (Quadroon, Octoroon, etc.) but those terms are more or less archaic.
*n.b. “closest” doesn’t mean “close”, just the one extant society closest to what the OP is proposing.
Name one person who, in their debut on this board has asked a question about the “white race” and hasn’t been a Nazi bastard. I’ve been dealing with shit since the day I was born because of my family name (think Goebbels but not quite) and I can spot that type a kilometer away.

I read an article a few years ago about a scientist who asked subjects to self-identify their race and did genetic testing on them looking for markers which indicate European and/or African ancestry. The results he found were…
35% of Americans who call themselves “white” actually have some Africans in their family tree.
98% of Americans who call themselves “black” actually have some Europeans in their family tree.
IIRC, the scientist (who considers himself “white”) was surprised to find that he himself had a larger fraction of African ancestry than any of the other “white” people in the study.
My conclusion is that roughly half the USA is biracial and we just won’t admit it. So, if you suddenly increased the number of biracial couples and they all had biracial babies, those babies would grow up to call themselves “black” or “white” just like people have done in the past and keep doing now. If you ask me, the whole thing is silly, really.
It’s also worth mentioning that conventional wisdom on this subject has changed dramatically over the years. In the year 1885, Irish Americans were not considered “white”. And I read a post from a man living in England in the 1980s who had 3 grandparents from England plus 1 from India, and called himself “black”. And I’m sure you can start an argument almost anywhere in the world by asking whether Jews are white or not. How about Vikings? Or Eskimos? And if you consider Europeans to be white, where do you draw the line of what is part of Europe? Do Russians count? How about Greeks and Turks? Turkey is part of the EU and also NATO now. But others would argue it’s actually in the middle east. What a big mess.
Anyway, that’s my prediction. After all the “white” women disappeared, you’d have a big mess, just like the big mess we already had before they disappeared.

I find the topic of race mixing absolutely fascinating in its emotionality, all the moralizing that goes on about it.
From a practical standpoint, given all the advances in medical science, won’t couples, in the not too distant future–couples of any race–be able to, to be blunt, choose the race of their children by the manipulation of genes, DNA tweaking?
My sense is that in the future the human race in its various incarnations as to skin, hair and eye color, shall be able to breed itself into whatever it wants to look like.
In other words, if you’re a mixed or non-white couple and desire a fairer skinned, lighter haired child with Caucasian features, you can have one. If not, you can stick with your own natural genes.
What I’m trying to say here, admittedly somewhat clumsily (not being trained in natural science) is that what was once science fiction often becomes science fact (submarines, air travel, from balloons to airplanes, robotic surgery, the Internet and cybertechnology in general), and I see no reason why altering the appearance of the human race should be off limits. To the contrary, I think that if this comes to pass,–and it looks like we’re well more than half-way there–this would solve a great many of the world’s problems.
