This might sound as an idiotic endeavor, but sometimes you don’t always want to hear the audio when you’re copying.
In most scenarios it will not affect the recorded sound. I’m assuming that you are connecting to the DVD recorder using standard video/audio connectors to go between the two devices.
There are a couple of scenarios which will cause the volume to be affected. If you are taking the audio from the earphone jack on the TV set, or if you place a microphone in front of the TV speaker to capture the sound. Neither of these approaches is recommended.
Your assumption’s correct. Now I’ll feel a lot more confident giving it a whirl.
